I’m not one to ask for help much.. but as I get older, its gets easier.
I have found myself blessed and surrounded with a bunch of really good people that I can always count on.
Well… they couldn’t show up today.. so I had to make do.. LOLOLOL
Today was move that old stove day.
A few years ago I managed to get a hold of my grandmothers cook stove. It seemed old when I was young.. It amazing how much bigger it looked when I was little. Anyway, we used it for the last ten years or so. But time has taken its toll and there was a lot of rot in the back to the point that it was certainly a fire hazard and needed to be replaced.
If you live up here… everyone has a spare wood stove somewhere.. lol. I picked the one (I have three) with an awesome flat top for cooking the crepes on and Joe built a sled to move it up there… There’s two to three feet of snow in the bush now, so moving things around is not easy.
Well everyone shows up and things couldn’t have went easier.,.. Joe’s sled performed like a champion and all the strong arms I asked for worked (along with the weak minds) . We’re gonna use the sled to give rides on for the rest of the winter….
Thanks to Keith and Mitch… Mitch brought the coffee and well, Keith bitched there were too many foremen and not enough workers.. (he said it a bit differently, but someone would bitch if I reprinted that.. lol this journal is of course, like me, very politically correct.) Joe brought the sled! Barry brought .. Barry, and a boot that kept tripping him.. I think he just likes looking up. Marc brought .. well Peggy, and Luc brought the wine!! Monique supervised and made sure everyone’s happy cup was full! Total success.
Many more plans were made for upgrades and thought put in to a new evaporator hood. Tomorrow a little more rearranging and then we start to “Tap those Trees!!”
Tomorrow we start to tap and put up our memorial to my Dad (Thanks Cousin Joe)
More to come!!
