Sunday was a big day for us, with the help of Joe and Jamie, Monique and Luc! It was an exceptionally beautiful day… but totally against my predictions the trees were running!! Its the first warm spell we have had and I would have thought it would have been a few more days, but that’s something I have learned about Syruping, it is very unpredictable.
We worked the day until we had no supplies left. At present we have 400-410 taps in trees. I still have about 50 more trees I could tap, so I’m gonna scrounge around and see what else I can come up with..
This tree is right beside the sugar shack… its weird because it is traditionally the first tree we notice running every year. We keep a glass jar on it so its easy to keep an eye on.
Joe and Monique installing pails and hoses for those spots where there are multiple trees.

Oh… and our Dog Muskie too!
Even my cousin Joe and his (MUCH) better half Patty showed up… just in time for dinner…. Hmmmmmm…. Joes in the middle of tapping his own property and came by to see how we were making out.
A great turkey dinner… some yawning and we called it a night!
